After nearly four decades practising in London W1 Mayfair, Viren Jani has consolidated his practice at his established clinic in East Horsley, Surrey, where he now works exclusively.

With over 40 years of clinical experience, Viren provides highly personalised eye examinations supported by advanced diagnostic technology.

Appointments are unhurried and may take up to 90 minutes, allowing time to listen carefully, carry out a thorough clinical assessment and explain the findings clearly. Additional time is allowed when clinically necessary, so patients never feel rushed.

Patients can also discover an individually curated collection of distinctive, innovative  eyewear and impressive collection of vintage eyewear.

Advanced diagnostic technology supports the detection, monitoring and appropriate referral of conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, cataract, dry eye and other retinal or anterior eye conditions.

Where necessary, findings and management options are explained clearly, and appropriate referral or shared care can be arranged with an ophthalmologist.

“I had noticed that my eyesight was getting worse when driving and, after being fobbed off by another high street optician, I was recommended to go and see Viren. He identified that a section of my eyesight was missing but that it was nothing wrong with my sight but rather that it was something in the visual pathway to the brain. He immediately referred me to my Doctor for an urgent MRI scan. This showed a slow growing Brain Tumour which, thankfully, was benign and has now been removed. A year on and my eyesight is now stable”
